Many people say it is impossible to build a perpetual motion machine and yet it seems like planet Earth is a perpetual motion machine as it goes round and round and never stops. The solar system appears to be a perpetual motion machine as well. The atoms that make up everything also appeared to be a perpetual motion machines. Many might disagree that the Earth is a perpetual motion machine because it has “only” been going on for 5.5 billion years.
However, if you consider 5.5 billion years next to the closest perpetual motion machine that mankind has ever made you can see that it is a great design and perpetual machine. Likewise the human species is interesting enough, as it is a form of a perpetual motion machine also. Each time a set of parents has an off spring they go on to have more off springs and this has been going on for we think 75,000 to 125,000 years. We believe that the dinosaurs which died out lasted 450 million years, pretty perpetual indeed.
It seems that species that are on the top of the planet living on the surface are a form of perpetual motion machines and the human species which is able to adapt and think and plan ahead should be able to be the greatest perpetual motion machine created thus far.
This is the because the human species can adapt itself and build spacecraft to go and colonize other worlds and even if Earth, the 5.5 billion-year-old perpetual motion machine, fails us it will not matter because we will no linger have all of our eggs in one basket. So whereas scientists like to say that we cannot create a perpetual motion machine.
I would say that someday we will, because we have several good examples on that right here and now. Presently humans cannot build a perpetual motion machine, but it appears that god, whatever that turns out to be, has been able to do it and so soon we will as well.
