I want it weren?t the project but, it?s not everyday that I get a CD from an actor that I can just pop in and comfortably eavesdrop to from opening to end. There is generally a song or two that I just can?t might myself to get through. Not at all the project using Cape Verdean Blues. Every path is enjoyable and was cute cushy for me to eavesdrop to from father to terminate.

Our Northern brethren in Canada have seen a resurgence lately thanks to a number of high profile Canadian musical artists that have broke through nationally and internationally. It was hard to pick just three artists to highlight in this feature but I think I made the right choice, and tried to pick artists from different background and genres. Without further ado, the top three new Canadian musical artists:
Cadence Weapon
The stage name of Rollie Pemberton, Cadence Weapon is a journalist turned rapper who has put out two acclaimed records of neo-new-wave hip-hop with a strong emphasis on lyrical content and wordplay. Pemberton is also the poet laureate of Edmonton, his hometown, and has been touring the area serving as an ambassador of the literary arts. Pemberton is one of Canadians most promising artists both on and off the stage.

Im a sucker for a unique, ethereal female voice. Heres a list of some of my top three favorite female vocalists that you may not have heard of. It was hard to whittle the list down to just three but somehow I was able to do it. I highly recommend you check out these artists work and support them anyway you can.
Elizabeth Fraser
As the lead singer of the influencial dreampop band Cocteau Twins, Fraser was most well known for her unique vocal delivery and melisatic affectations. In the beginning Frasers lyrics were intelligible but as the band went on Fraser refused to sing actual intelligible English but would mix in sounds and gibberish to fit her feelings. Her guest vocal on Massive Attacks Teardrop song can now be heard in the opening credits of the TV show House. A reclusive artist, Fraser has recorded very rarely in recent years despite being approached by many modern artists as diverse as Linkin Park and U2.

Like many musicians before her, Amy Speace left her family, her friends, and her home to write her new album, “The Killer In Me.” She left, it seems, not to escape the pain in her life, or to avoid distraction, but to absorb her feelings and transform them. This emotional osmosis drew her pain out and allowed her, as she says, “to write the things the you're afraid to say out loud.” Amy's songs break through that fear not only in her mind but also in ours. She is not a simple songwriter and “The Killer In Me” is not an easy listen. The cryptic meanings of her lyrics are not immediately clear and demand time to absorb their poetry. This album conjures the loneliness, sadness, and helplessness that we all sometimes feel and tempers those twisting emotions with those of hope and love.

Disney, the empire that Walt Disney built back in the early 1940's-50's has really hit its stride lately. WEith the success of their Disney cable channels and hit shows to boot (That's So Raven, Hannah Montana, The Wizards of Waverly Place, The Jonas Brothers) they've been knocking them out of the park for the past ten years or more now. but what's really surprising is the success of their radio stations Disney radio and recording artists to boot. With Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, and Zack Ephron just to name a few Disney is raking in millions of dollars annually throug their record sales. A lot of the credit goes to their formula in packaging good clean family entertainment while keeping up with the current trends in fashion and music. They've done very well at it for a while nowbut I can't help drawing comparisons to an older act that Disney helped to laung onto the world-stage a while ago; and they were the Osmonds.

People are mad about these artists and love them more than the new generation of artists. The other reason is that they are a part of the history of music so the items related to them are more in demand. Artists that are no longer with us tend to be more popular and their belongings or their touch are more valuable.

When I first heard the news that Michael Jackson had died I immediately dismissed it. I thought it was a cruel rumor that was being circulated. I got into the elevator with a black woman who looked visibly shaken and I asked here did she hear about it. She confirmed that it was true. He was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. on June 25, 2009.
As the elevator sank toward the ground floor, my heart sunk with it. Like most black people felt as though I had lost a childhood friend. Losing a childhood friend can be more painful than losing a distant relative because of the historical bond you share. When a childhood friend dies, a part of your life dies with them. Such was the case for me and millions of others who had the pleasure of growing up with Michael Jackson.
