Red on Broadway is an intelligent new American play coming as an import from London. Being brought to The Great White Way from the Donmar Warehouse the show has been generally well received by New York City critics. The play is a two character one act piece which stars Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne. It is their magnificent acting chops in which all critics agree that makes this play work.
The story tells of abstract New York artist Mark Rothkois covering a two year period of the late 1950's. Rothkois is at work in his studio during this time with his assistant to complete a mural for the Four Seasons restaurant in Manhattan's Seagram's Building. The audience can see the personality of the painter through his intellectual and controlling interactions with his young assistant. The two spend their time talking and debating the art they love bringing the story to life.
